Several Solutions for NARAKA Server Connection Failures
Getting stuck on the loading screen, receiving a connection error, or being sent back to the title screen before a match in NARAKA: BLADEPOINT is frustrating. It does not automatically mean the servers are down or that your internet speed is too slow.
What matters is where the connection fails. A problem before reaching the lobby can point to maintenance or a login-side issue. A failure while loading into a match is more often related to the route between your network and the target game server, especially when playing across regions.
Start With the Stage Where the Problem Appears
There is no need to reinstall the game immediately. The point where the disconnect happens already provides useful clues.
*Stuck before reaching the lobby
If the login screen keeps loading or returns a server connection error before you can enter the lobby, check official NARAKA: BLADEPOINT announcements first. Maintenance, hotfix deployment, or a wider service problem can prevent login regardless of your local setup.
If there is no reported service issue, fully close both NARAKA and Steam before launching them again. Verify game files only when the problem began after an update and is accompanied by crashes, launch failures, or missing-file messages. File verification can repair the client, but it will not improve a poor route to the server.
*Disconnected while a match is loading
Reaching the lobby but failing when a match starts usually points beyond the basic login process. This is more likely when you are joining friends in another region, selecting a distant server, or seeing failures only during certain hours. In these cases, the connection path to the match server matters more than raw download speed.
*Rubber-banding or disconnecting after entering a match
If the match begins normally but your character snaps back, actions register late, or the connection drops during combat, look for packet loss or sudden latency spikes. A speed test may show a fast connection while missing these short disruptions, because it does not measure the route used by NARAKA: BLADEPOINT.
Why Server Region Matters?
NARAKA: BLADEPOINT serves players across several regions. When choosing where to play, server distance, the route from your ISP, and the region where your friends play matter more than trying to identify an exact data-center city.
| Server region or network hub | Publicly confirmed information | What to consider |
|---|---|---|
| North America (NA) | Officially identified as a main server region | Players connecting from Europe, Asia, or Oceania will usually face higher latency |
| Europe (EU) | Officially identified as a main server region | Best suited to players near Europe or groups playing there |
| Asia (AS) | Officially identified as a main server region | A nearby region can still be unstable if the ISP route is congested |
| Southeast Asia (SEA) | Officially identified as a main server region | Cross-region parties may experience more variable latency |
| Oceania | NARAKA officially announced a local network hub in Sydney | This confirms Sydney as an Oceania network hub, but not necessarily as a separately selectable OCE server region |
| South America | NARAKA officially announced a local network hub in São Paulo | Local players should test this connection before relying on distant NA or EU regions |
The farther away your selected region is, the longer data usually needs to travel and the more networks it may pass through. Even when the displayed ping appears playable, congestion on one part of that path can cause server connection failures, loading timeouts, party disconnects, or sudden in-match lag.
Some extra delay is expected when joining friends in another region. But if other games work normally on the same connection while NARAKA: BLADEPOINT repeatedly cannot connect to its server, focus on the game route rather than assuming the client is damaged.
When the Route Is Unstable, Test GearUP
If you are connecting to a distant server, or if problems persist during login or match loading, you might try GearUP, a network optimization tool officially partnered with NARAKA.
It should be noted that this is not an official restriction on connections. Because everyone’s network environment is complex, faults cannot be completely avoided, and GearUP will help you bypass congested parts of the network and improve connection stability. Its intelligent algorithms do not require you to manually configure the network and can also fully safeguard your data. In short, it is an effective auxiliary means to help improve the gaming experience.
Many players tend to overlook public network issues because they are a latent factor, which also causes them to be unable to connect smoothly.
It offers two options, for PC and for routers, and is now available free to all players (limited to NARAKA):
The GearUP plugin is installed directly on the router, so console players can easily speed up their connection without having to power on a PC:

Check Only the Local Network Factors That Matter
You do not need to change every PC setting because of a loading-screen disconnect. These checks directly affect connection stability.
Pause Tasks That Use Upload Bandwidth
Cloud syncing, livestreaming, video calls, background backups, and large downloads can all compete for network capacity. Upload use is especially easy to overlook. When it is saturated, game data and server acknowledgements can be delayed, leading to loading timeouts or sudden in-match disconnects.
Pause these tasks before launching the game, then test another match.
Compare With Another Network
Testing through a mobile hotspot or another broadband connection is not meant as a permanent replacement. It helps identify whether the issue is tied to your original home network or ISP.
If a hotspot consistently completes login and match loading while your normal connection keeps dropping, investigate your Wi-Fi, router, or ISP route. If both networks fail while there is no announced service problem, checking the client environment becomes more relevant.
Test Ethernet if You Play on Wi-Fi
Full Wi-Fi signal does not guarantee a stable connection. Router distance, walls, Bluetooth devices, nearby wireless networks, and other high-traffic devices can all create short interruptions.
For loading-screen timeouts or occasional match disconnects, testing with Ethernet is more useful than repeatedly changing graphics settings. If the problem disappears on a wired connection, the likely cause is your wireless environment rather than the NARAKA servers. You can then reposition the router, use a more stable Wi-Fi band, or reduce heavy activity on the same network.
When to Check Firewall Settings and Game Files?
Firewall settings and file verification are not universal fixes for disconnects. They are worth checking when:
- The game stopped launching or initializing after an update
- You see missing-file messages, repeated crashes, or login component errors
- The issue began after installing security software or changing protection rules
- Steam or the game executable is clearly being blocked
Make sure Steam and NARAKA: BLADEPOINT are not blocked by your firewall or security software. If an update caused client errors, verify installed files through Steam. If the main issue remains high cross-region latency, failed match loading, or in-match disconnects, focus on route quality and connection stability instead.
